The INEC national commissioner, Amina Zakari declared Yahaya Bello governor elect after his victory in the state's supplementary governorship elections in the early hours of tofay, 6th December, 2015.
She further stated
that the Deputy Governor Elect, James Faleke still remains Kogi
State deputy governor
despite the news that he has withdrawn participation in the yesterday, 5th,
December 2015
In her words she
said:
“Unless the party withdraws a candidate, his letter is not enough, and unless the proper channel is followed which is through the party,” she said.
Faleke was running mate to late Abubakar Audu, and had asked to be declared governor-elect after Audu’s death. He'd also filed a suit against conducting the supplementary elections which was rejected.
